The Snowgoose Diaries
DSM & Lighting Designer
I was asked to be the DSM and design the lighting for this exciting piece of new theatre written by a college lecturer and an ex student. It was a great experience for me to work with the authors of the piece of work, as it was still being moulded into a final performance, and changes were always happening that had to be adapted within the lighting and the stage management aspects of the show
The one act play follows a young man in rural russia in the late 1940's trying to persue his career as a writer. The Snowgoose diaries follows him reflecting on his life in his native village with his dear Grandfather.
As it was such a sensitive well crafted story I had to make sure my lighting design was empathetic with the piece, and aimed for a very naturalistic, simplistic design, knowing that the time allocated for technical aspects would not be long as it was performed at a theatre festival.
